Magnifide Web Services Overview
Magnifide Web Services are functional groupings of MSP and third-party data that FIS makes available to lenders and service providers on demand using standard transfer protocols (HTTPS) and interfaces (SOAP/XML). Magnifide Web Services provide access to loan-level data directly from MSP (MSP Web services) and third-party systems (third-party Web services), enabling integration of XML responses with virtually any application across the enterprise.
Consider the tools you use to service loans and meet the needs of your customers. Magnifide Web Services enable your applications to access needed loan, borrower and property data directly from the source without leaving the desktop. You can integrate Magnifide Web Services uniformly with any application of your choosing. The data is released on demand.
How Magnifide Web Services Work
Whether the application used to service loans is a consumer website, an integrated voice response (IVR) unit, a payoff workstation, default software or a teller platform, requests for FIS' Magnifide Web Services are made and responses are delivered the same way - each and every time. We free the data and make it available to the applications of your choosing using XML request and response schema.
You control the presentation layer by designing your own graphical user interface (GUI) so the application can launch Magnifide Web Services requests and the end user can view the results from the desktop. Behind the scenes, the request is processed and the returned data is populated on the user's desktop in real-time. Many of our Web Services also enable your applications to write back to the system-of-record as if working in MSP directly.
The suite of Magnifide Web Services offered by FIS overcomes the technical challenges of accessing and integrating MSP and third party data at the loan-level, and provides a secure and highly efficient means of data exchange with customers, business partners and employees across the enterprise.
Categories of Magnifide Web Services
Three broad categories of Magnifide Web Services are available to lenders and service providers.
- MSP Web Services
- Third Party Web Services
- Web Services Plus
MSP Web Services
MSP Web services provide read, add, update and delete functionality around logical groupings of MSP data for a specified loan. Some MSP Web services provide read-only functionality while others contain MSP read and write operations. Approximately 3,000 MSP data fields are exposed using web services standards in the 50+ MSP Web services currently in production.
The functionally organized groupings of MSP data that make up each MSP Web service can be called by any application as an XML request one loan at a time, which in turn triggers an integrated, real-time XML response. As such, MSP Web services provide an alternative to screen scraping for feeding needed data to proprietary applications.
You do not have to be concerned with identifying the particular MSP screens or sizing the particular fields where data is housed to get to the information you need. We locate, bundle and synchronize the delivery of MSP data in a way that makes MSP Web services readily accessible, reliable and useful to a wide variety of servicing functions.
Third-Party Web Services
Third-party Web services expose service providers' data using Web services to fulfill automated orders for a variety of services such as broker price opinions (BPOs), property valuations and document recovery. As with MSP Web services, third-party Web services allow orders to be placed via direct application calls. Requests and responses via XML streams allow users to integrate third-party results into back-end systems using the same channel as MSP Web Services to minimize manual touch points and maximize data currency. Third-party Web service orders can also be placed using the Order Exchange, FIS' website for placing orders online.
Web Services Plus
Web Services Plus refers to packaged solutions that extend the core capabilities of Magnifide Web Services. To enhance the value of the services delivered, Web Services Plus is Magnifide Web Services and more!
FIS has made a significant investment in the development of Web Services Plus to address some of the overly burdensome processing requirements identified by our clients. Notable among them are Payoff Express, Credit Bureau Direct and Dynamic Loan View, all of which feature real-time access to MSP data. Third party access to these services is subject to preauthorization by the servicer.
New Web Services Plus are developed by FIS in response to the most compelling data needs of the mortgage servicing industry.
Order Exchange
FIS' proprietary application with an online graphical user interface (the "Order Exchange") can be used to retrieve third-party Web services, payoff quotes via Payoff Express and standard payment, escrow and default views via Dynamic Loan View. Orders can be placed one loan at a time or in the case of third-party Web services and Payoff Express, orders can be placed for a number of loans in bulk using an integrated bulk upload feature.
With the order placement facility, users can retrieve real-time loan and order-level status tracking and detail and summary-level performance reporting on all requests that come through the Order Exchange and through direct application calls for Magnifide Web Services. The reporting component allows users to view a baseline set of reports and to alter reported variables as needed to sort and track the status of all orders.
A Secure Foundation
The Magnifide Web Services platform employs 128-bit encryption and authenticates users with x.509 digital certificates as a prerequisite to launching Magnifide Web Services requests. As an additional layer of protection, RACF security remains in use to read and write to MSP via MSP Web services.
